Jim Crawford and Maureen Ahmed were the owners of Chatham Cider Works down at the Plant when they commissioned this mural. It was completed in February, edging out
Mural #11 by a few months.
Claire Alexander claims her place in the African diaspora. She has a penchant for building images atop the heads of different people. This piece is a tribute to Roxie Small, who was an activist and community leader in Pittsboro during the Jim Crow era.
She once had a fabulous show at 21C Hotel over in Durham, in which she filled the place with provocative pieces of similar work.
She has also exhibited and sold work at Smelt, the art gallery at the Plant.
